Statement
of Faith
Pat
A. Jeffrey
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
is the center of my life's goals, preaching, and teaching.
I want people to understand what it means to know, believe
in, and follow Jesus Christ, so they can experience
God's will and purpose in their lives.
I believe that God communicates with us in all of life's
situations, through Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the scriptures,
worship, the church, and creation. I take seriously
the call to prayer and Bible study, a means by which
we speak to God and God speaks to us. Prayer is the
place where we begin to be made whole, where God's vision
is revealed to us, and the comfort and peace of God's
presence touches us in a unique way. When we understand
Christ's life, death, and resurrection, we come to a
clearer understanding of ourselves, our relationship
with God, and others.
Once I was asked, "If you had one last sermon to
preach, what would be its theme?" It would be about
God's great love for each of us. My conviction is that
we are all wanting, needing sinners, called to action
in this world. I am certain of God's gracious love and
forgiveness in our everyday lives. My call as pastor
has been one of proclaiming that the promises of God
are true. God does mend the brokenness of shattered
lives. God breathes life into us as individuals and
as communities of faith. When all is said and done,
faith must be a reliance on this life giving and life
empowering God.
My personal approach to ministry is that each and every
Christian is called to share the Good News. The Church
is "the people" and scripture is clear that
ministry should be a cooperative effort. My goal is
to see the church family praying about and sharing in
the leadership and decision-making in all areas of the
church. In this way, individuals can be learning and
contributing to a church that is alive and growing with
the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Wherever I minister,
the inclusion of children and youth is a top priority.
Young people are not just the Church of tomorrow; they
are the church of today!
I am a firm believer in Biblical authority and believe
that we have a firm foundation on which to stand. Education
is a nurturing process involving the spiritual, social,
mental, and physical aspects of life. My goals are to
help people understand their personal faith in relationship
to God, and offer opportunities, which speak to them.
Care should be taken to equip our educators spiritually,
with quality training and Biblically based materials.
Lastly, as Christ came not to be served but to serve,
so I too seek to exhibit this in my lifestyle and work.
I find it a special privilege to serve as a minister
of Jesus Christ.

The Jeffrey Family
Pat and Joyce met in Washington, Iowa. He was fresh
out of seminary when he moved there to be a pastor,
and she was a music teacher in the public schools. They
were married the following year. Their spiritual journey
took them to churches in Salina, Kansas and then to
Encampment, Wyoming, where their two sons were born.
"CJ", graduated from CSU in Fort Collins,
he received a BS in Music and is currently working on
a musical production before he enters a masters program next year. Justin,
a student at Falcon High School, enjoys
playing the bass guitar, downhill skiing, skateboarding, and hanging with
friends.
Most recently, the Jeffrey's lived in Haines, Alaska,
where Pat pastored a church for six years. Their musical
abilities are used in worship as Joyce plays keyboard
and Pat plays guitar. The Jeffrey's are hunters and
enjoy fishing, camping, and skiing. To stay in shape,
Pat runs the Woodmen Hills trails with their two Golden
Retrievers and Joyce does aerobic workouts. They look
forward to developing deep and lasting friendships with
the people of this community!
